Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does the service cost?
For traditional high schools, the service is available for $1,995 per school year (12 calendar months). We offer
special pricing for adult, court and alternative schools. We also offer three-month system trial subscriptions.
Please click here for details.
2. Is there a per student charge?
There is no per student charge so access to the system does not have to be limited to seniors. Many schools provide
access to sophomores and juniors so they can get a head start on HSAP preparation.
3. What hardware is required and does software have to be installed?
Chariot’s HSAP Prep system is Internet-based software-as-a-service. Any computer with an Internet connection can
access the system and no software has to be installed or maintained.
4. Can students access the system from home?
Yes. Schools have the option of allowing students to access the system from home.
5. Can we restrict access to the system?
Access to the system can be limited to only school computers. However, most schools permit students to access the
system from their home computers.
6. How long does it take to for the system be operational at our school?
The HSAP Prep service is typically available within 2 to 3 days after we receive the appropriate paperwork. In
special circumstances, it can be available sooner.
7. How much staff training is required?
Training requirements are minimal. If an instructor or administrator has some experience using the Internet, they
will find the system easy to learn and use. Students will need little, if any, instruction.
8. Can our district host the system at the district data center?
Yes. Chariot’s HSAP Test Prep software and content is available as a turnkey “appliance”. Please click
here for more details.
9. How secure is student data?
Student accounts are ID password protected and Chariot has the latest in firewall security. No demographic student
information is captured or stored.
10. What tests are available?
The system includes diagnostic tests to determine student performance on each state content standard.
To determine readiness, the Testing Center includes an alternative form of the test that can be taken as a posttest
prior to the exit examination date.
11. What tutorial content is available?
The Study Center provides tutorial content correlated to the state content standards.
12. Can we use our own test questions and tutorial content?
Not under the service plan. Since many schools will be using the same content, we will listen to their suggestions
and accommodate as many as possible. If you are looking for a customized testing and tutorial system using your
content, please visit http://www.testandtrain.com
